WHAT IS ACNE?

Acne is a disease of the pores. It can be caused by certain drugs, medications or exposure to chemicals but most acne is an inherited tendency. Dead skin cells shed too quickly in the acne-prone pore, forming a plug along with sebum and hair. This is where the problem begins. If the body doesn’t see the plug as an invader, it remains as a non-inflamed lesion, also known as a blackhead. If it does, the plug turns into pimples, pustules and cysts.

HOW DO I CONTROL IT?

Your acne can be controlled through the continued use of Face Reality products and corrective in-clinic treatments. In as little as 12 weeks, you can see a dramatic improvement in your overall complexion. Many people see significant results in the first month. Once your acne is under control, it’s important to follow your Face Reality regimen to keep your skin clear. Unfortunately, acne cannot be cured, only controlled.

Your Face Reality Certified Acne Specialist will establish a home care routine based on your skin and acne type. As experts, they will make necessary adjustments throughout the treatment process. Additionally, your Acne Specialist will customize each treatment appointment based on the condition of your skin at the time. Sometimes the skin will need hydration, and other times you’ll need corrective peels to facilitate the clearing of dark spots. Your Acne Specialist may also perform extractions to speed up the clearing process.

Consultation + Skin Test = $25.00

Time to discuss your current skincare regimen, acne history, lifestyle, diet, and medications. We’ll cleanse the skin, do a skin analysis and skin sensitivity test. This option is for those not quite sure they are ready to commit. It’s a great way to come in and find out what our acne program is all about and allows you to get to know your esthetician.

Monthly Treatment = $70.00

Bi-Weekly Treatment = $50.00

To get your acne under control, we need to monitor your progress and possibly adjust your home care regimen every 2 weeks or once a month. We will analyze your skin at the beginning of every visit to assess which treatment would serve you best, and determine what changes need to be made to your custom home care routine. It is important that we see you every two to four weeks to assess your progress and how your skin is responding to treatment. Most see a significant improvement in 8 to 12 weeks.

FAQs

* Expect to pay $120-$150 for your initial home care products. On average, your products will last 2-3 months.

* Our Acne Program features Face Reality products and are state-of-the art skincare. These products were specifically formulated for acne prone skin and are guaranteed not to clog your pores.

* If using Retin A®, Differen, Renova or any other prescription medications for exfoliating/anti-aging or medication for Rosacea, you will need to discontinue using 14 days prior to coming in.
* If using Accutane, you need to stop taking 6 months before you start the program.
* If you are pregnant or nursing, you need to have your doctor’s OK before you start the program.
Some treatments and products in this facial are not advised.

* Possible downtime (light flaking or minor redness post-treatment) after acne treatments.
